Welcome to One-of-a-Kind-Whimsies. My name is Michelle Hetzel and I am a recently retired art teacher. I am so excited to finally have the opportunity to do what I love and that’s create unique, seasonal art pieces and ornaments made primarily out of gourds.

Each of my pieces is hand sculpted with air dry clay and completely hand-painted with meticulous attention to detail. Each gourd  character that I create is crafted for quality and originality that you will not find in mass produced pieces. Because of the nature of the gourds and other natural materials used, no two pieces are ever alike making them truly one of a kind.  

While most of my pieces are created for juried art shows, I do have a limited collection for sale on my website from time to time.  If you are interested in my work, please send me your name and email address and I will contact you as pieces become available.
